A remote colony home to no more than a few dozen folk, the modest arcology of Nöjkheim, or Wön's Home, is built around a large geyser referred to as Nöjkskar, or Wön's Will.

To the west of both Huldan and Voyrmark, it resides on what would be considered a small islet across the Fryshäv named Nöjkhart, or Wön's Heart. Discovered by chance, it became a safe refuge for the Umiri Expedition when they were lost and in dire need of hope, completely out of stamina and supplies.

Industry

Due to the enormous heat potential accessible by the inhabitants of Nöjkheim, natural angling holes scattered around the island allow for the harvest of unique sea life via spearfishing and short dives as a sustainable form of food.

A handful of settlers operate as engineers and scholars, researching and documenting new ways to use the forces at their disposal, in addition to investigating how to carefully re-reach the mainland to share the inventions and knowledge they have gained.

Infrastructure

Kept warm by the insulated dome surrounding the settlement and hot spring, a large water-windmill hybrid utilising geothermal and kinetic energy allows the community to take advantage of vast amounts of power unlike the majority of Kälran.

History

Seeking new land, the Umiri Expedition were tasked over 50 years ago with finding the mythical shores of a location shrouded in mist known as Rrumkoft, far in the west. Whilst they did not find it, they instead found Nöjkskar and established a station around it believing it to be a sign from Wön.

Much of the original descendants have passed on or live in their old age, so the children of what are now called just the Umiri endure as they must. None have dared to venture back to their starting point, and so it is assumed by the Glacial Knights that the Umiri did not manage to survive the cold.

Architecture

Raerite segments decorate the dome, illuminating the shelter from the darkness outside, and revealing it to be a lone outpost standing in the near-endless night. Subtle light can be seen from atop Darsöm, although none expect it to be life that exists out there but some kind of other phenomenon.

Geography

Pure fresh water spouts from the geyser high into the sky, raining down thawing showers and encouraging new life to flourish.

Aside from a few gaps in the thick ice, little else can be seen apart from the dark covering the ocean in all directions.

Natural Resources

An extraordinary herb, Lypsum, grows around the lip of the fountain, always repopulating itself even after being plucked entirely. The plant exhibits distinguished restorative properties, helping with problems from the smallest of ailments to even serious wounds and infections.

Calmon, dubbed so for its effect on the mind can be fished from the pockets of water here. The euphony of the fishes humming relaxes, with the steaming of them during cooking being a favourite amongst the Umiri.
