"Quintessential. Faultless and flawless in form. The entrancingly unblemished; the sacred booming and the silent ancient; the paradoxical, yet... true.
The most lost of strays, of aeons misremembered and left to be dreamt of... beneath starlit oceans and upon barren skies, and of the once most holy, in Their disappearance a gift, no... The Gift.
To recollect, you will be reknown. To reminisce, you will be remembered. To reflect, you will be reforged. To rekindle, you will be reborn.
The Ark of the Reigning Lights..." — The Last Writings of Ser...
Exquisite olden calligraphy, once captured on a simple loose page, mismatched and misshapen. Found in the journeyed journal of none other than the jaunty character known as the Banjo Man, Ochäln Iln. How it got there is something to be experienced within the Timewaes, and is somewhere to be explained across the Aethwaes, not to be expected of someone from the Exem or Plawaes, nor wandered by somebody in the Wendwaes.
Where this entity is now is unclear, but it always finds its destination. A wayfarer in its own right.
Origin
The revered and reviled Wyth'Äen are credited as the key to this mysterious and mystical arkane object, whilst in reality, They are more likely each part of a lock required to unseal the secrets that roam inside.
Its namesake is not entirely clear, but it has been chronicled throughout. "Reigning Lights" would seem to imply the Celestial Triumvirate are related in some way, which would be logical with the Cadence Hexad beneath them, but what does that mean after Their transformation?
Another name has come up in the most archaic of writings involving this, or at least what is believed to be a name... Jör. An unknown, or lost member of the Divine. A sibling to Rae, Ien, and Jul perhaps? But why is there no further mention of them, and why has their touch not been felt in ages of recency?
Function and Form
Whilst not an "ark" in the typical sense of the word, it does seem to be protecting a frequently shifting flowing substance with a chromatic core, another set of elements not realised. It is assumed to not be of this material world, but from a higher plane, out of reach and understanding for the corporeal.
A perfect sphere, about the size of one's palm to their elbow. Perfectly transparent, outside of a faint hue to the surface. Enclosed there is seen to be the nucleus lying at its centre, constant until it is not, and matching to the shell. The shift and drift take place as it wills it, seemingly, with no observable frequency to its colour-switching crux.
Feeling delicate to the touch, this orb is woven from a material not familiar to the mortal beings of Kälran, and hardier than even the strongest of metals smelted by the Eötnua. Yes, it appears impenetrable and unbreakable, even under the most severe levels of stress endured, but also, why would you seek to attempt to desecrate such a device?
Lighter than would be expected, yet weightier than experienced. Impossible to be thrown more than the distance of another, as it plummets with rapid speed, before landing safely, avoiding damage to either itself or whatever it may collide with. It does not sink with urgency, however, and instead floats no more than halfway down its height. It can not be held down either, raising itself back to the surface should it be held down by any load. Curiously, it always reorients itself, despite there being no clear visual cues to its faithful alignment
The sensation felt when it is held is unlike any other, as if your mind has expanded, but for what godly purpose? Neither mystical acumen nor intellectual insight, not primaevel knowledge or spiritual foresight, and with reason or rhyme remaining left aside, too, it is strange, to say the least. One could describe comfort, without warmth, and oddly without chill, as well.
Beliefs
True intention is without faith, but in the true faith of the intent. If this is something sent from the High Heavens, then the acts of the faithful, and not their credence are what will activate or reveal its ability. Veracity and acuity dictate all will become obvious, as devotion is made manifest by the ways of the just.
Some would say this item is a focus of greater power, permitting only the most righteous. Others would preach quite the opposite, that it is a trial not meant for the devotees, but the blasphemous instead, and will reign down the Ultimate End.
Both could be actuality.
