Divine Magic and Military Resources:
At the start, the Aegis Ascendancy likely had limited access to divine magic due to the short time frame to establish such power. From a game mechanics perspective, the divine troops weren't fully trained since the leader had only returned two years prior. Establishing faith and trust would take time, and the divine magic likely began to manifest during the war.

Gamey perspective: There simply wasn’t enough time to prepare divine forces properly. They were working with martial might first, and the divine aspect came later, which could be a more impressive and intimidating show of force.

Cunning and Tactics:
The initial force was likely a chaotic, disorganized group of "rabble." The brilliance lies in how the council turned them into disciplined, zealous fighters by the war's end. This demonstrates incredible strategic minds.

Impressive growth: Over the course of the war, these troops evolved from untrained masses into fervent zealots, showcasing a brilliant use of psychological warfare and leadership.

Extended Campaign and Character Development:
A longer campaign could allow for deeper introspection into the Aegis Ascendancy's evolution.

Gradual Strengthening: Initially, they wouldn't have been as strong due to their lack of deep roots, but as the war progressed, the soldiers' experiences would inevitably lead them to adopt the ideology of zealotry.

Timeline: A 2-3 year campaign, with major events like a year-long siege, would allow for greater character development and immersion. The war wouldn't just be a series of battles; it would be a story of transformation.

Long-term Goal: By extending the timeline, you can explore other events and factions that play into the larger story, making the Aegis Ascendancy's rise feel earned and grounded.

Recruitment of Dragonborn:
Recruiting Dragonborn to fight was a huge strategic advantage, and the leader, Ar, understood this well.

Dragonborn Influence: Their presence would have been vital in training and educating the army in military tactics, improving coordination, and boosting morale.

Turning Point: The war wouldn't have started until Ar secured these experienced warriors, who played a key role in shaping the army's effectiveness.
