The Value of Friends
(From: Venomfang is Reidoth)
This part of the story must first remind of the visit from big-brother Vorgansharax to our green dragon Venomfang to make her take care of an egg he and his mate are too lazy to hatch themselves. Irritated by the imposition, Venomfang turns these boring egg duties over to these Cult of the Dragon weirdos.

Through the teachings of Reidoth, and her own mother’s style of having others do her dirty work, Venomfang strongly avoids work when she can trick others to do it for her. After convincingly pretending to being driven off from the tower by the party's attack, Venomfang was able to escape into the forest once more to seek her own adventures and explore.
Even better, as it turns out, a task the Emerald Enclave had assigned Reidoth: eliminate the threat to the woods from the bugbear King Grol, lined up with what the party needed to do to rescue the dwarf Gundren of the Rockseekers clan. Once again, the party did their part for the dragon, killing the tyrant bugbear.

But without the shadow of her protection, the Cult of the Dragon was attacked by Anchorites of Talos , who stole her brother Vorgansharax's egg and took it deep within the Neverwinter Wood. She needed to reclaim the egg before it came to any harm, or her brother came looking for it!
Tracking and chasing down these half-orc zealots, she discovers the Talos worshippers' base of operations (being called "The Circle of Thunder") has been built on the stone circles (menhirs) site of an ancient tomb from the The Age of the Proud Peoples, whose mystical protections forced the dragon to keep her distance. The Anchorites of Talos were using the hallowed site to perform sacrifices and summon forth a vile monstrosity of Talos called Gorthok the Thunder Boar.
So she continued a trick she had already been using in Thundertree - stealing Blight Seeds from the cursed mansion’s Gulthias Tree, she was rapid-harvesting waves of attackers to drive away the anchorites. But in the last seed-heist, she was nearly captured - and had to hide, becoming trapped in the magics of the curse location - and gravely threatened by what the dark forces might do with her true form!
Our Party ultimately secured its alliance with Venomfang in a daring and dangerous rescue of Reidoth, carried out when the party sought out the druid in need of healing a terrible facial wound Ujio Hiroyuki had received. The party could not locate the old druid became concerned what might have happened to him. Exploring the forest and stumbling upon the hunting lodge of the ranger known as Falcon, the ranger suspected the druid may have become trapped within an ancient and cursed dwelling in one of the darkest areas of the wood - the only building remaining of a town now lost in memory.
(No spoilers from The Haunt here - so skipping details) the chipmunk-form druid is grateful for the rescue from Montarthas Manor, and a grievous pang of guilt hits Venomfang as she-as-Reidothis unable to perform the high-level healing Ujio Hiroyuki required.

So apologetically, and with profound hesitation and caution, Reidoth led the group instead to the magical glade of a unicorn. The magical beast is able to heal the wounds - but his price requires Reidothto reveal himself as Venomfang.
"You can call me Djennie"
With her disguise as Reidoth exposed, she too was forced to acknowledge how fortunate she has been for this group of humans, a gnome, a half-elf, a high-elf and a giant dwarf. Even if unintentionally, she was freed of the cult nonsense, had her druid job with the bugbear Grol taken care of, and rescued from what might have been a terrible fate in the haunted house. Her life was far better from knowing Our Party. And perhaps the group were the only friends she has had since the death of the real Reidoth?
With this realization, she makes an honest effort to build trust with the group, knowing there was still one thing where she needed help - but this time she could at least offer something back. Dropping the fearsome-sounding "Venomfang", she offers the name her mentor once called her: Djennie.
What Djennie had shared regarding the emerald, she insists is true - in fact was told to her by the unicorn, who knew she was entering the place and wished the rift beneath the tomb healed after its millennium of being an inviting portal for otherworldly threats to invade. Now, honestly, she urges you to not only restore the menhir site, but to retrieve Vorgansharax'segg from the vile Anchorites of Talos.
Deeper Into The Woods
Venomfang / Djennie leads the party through ever-thickening growth and confounding wild of the forest. Only further north does the Neverwinter Wood grow more eerie, dark and foreboding - the most ancient site of Sharandar, where the dragon has hinted a group of elitist and hostile High Elves work toward trying to recover the past glory of the settlement among the colossal trees there. These long-fallen "Eldaren" have no love for any but their own kind.
The anchorites of Talos are an almost universal enemy here, acting from a hidden base somewhere to the east, and unleashing the foul demon-creature Gorthak the Thunder Boar from the tear between planes at the circle of stones (menhir) called the Circle of Thunder. They send the monster to assault and defile without mercy - druid enclaves, the homes of the fey, the nests of dragons, the glades of unicorns, and all manner of life - plant, beast or spirit.
It is two days journey to the site from the glade of the unicorn. During the travelling, she opens up - and is even a bit chatty - sharing the events described in the journal logs.
The day before reaching the circle, Venomfang approaches Belcoria, having watched her carefully considering that strange metallic key from the Forge of Spells - carved with the symbols of the evil chaos/storm god Talos and that of the ancient empire of The Netheril (who are said to have worshiped Talos). The dragon poses an offer - she believes she knows of one who would value that key, and if entrusted with it while the party returns the Cursed Emerald to the Tomb, she will negotiate a trade for Belcoria (assuring her that she, Djeniyliarax, is an excellent haggler).
Belcoria pries a bit regarding this mysterious key-seeker, with no luck - and agrees regardless. Venomfang cannot approach the Circle due to its protections - one of the reasons the anchorites have formed their encampment there - but she knows of an opening that leads to the subterranean tunnels of the tomb beneath the mound, and drops off the party there, promising to return in three days - and giving the group Goodberries as nourishment. She warns there will likely be insidious traps from those most ancient civilizations’ archmages and engineers - to be careful, and to repair this damaged and desecrated place, so her brother’s egg may be recovered.
