Agaric originates from the region of Faerûn called the High Forest. It is said the Underdark of the High Forest is impassable for most of the denizens of the deep, due to the presence of a vast fungi forest, said to perhaps even be one single entity as old as Toril itself, and perhaps the largest living thing as well. Indeed, the gnome has an affinity with fungi, and perhaps even a love for these often unappreciated participants in the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Deeply concerned with the balance of nature and the role of decomposition in tidying the world and enabling life itself, Agaric has embraced the druidcraft of the Circle of Spores.
The druids of the High Forest inducted him into the Emerald Enclave, and his adventures have taken him northward, over the Spine of the World to the Frozenfar to most recently inhabit the Icewind Dale. He has taken up companionship with a blue-skinned Sea Elf named Aelar, who appears to be under his care for some malady. The Rime of the Frostmaiden, this everlasting winter, which has taken its toll on both the cycle of summer rebirth and the crucial fungal decay of the seasons, has troubled the gnome, placing him at odds with the region's Frost Druids who have chosen to celebrate this unnatural imbalance as the Children of Auril. The worst of these being the White Inquisitor, who Agaric knows to be a megalomaniac xenophobe at heart, an elitist High Elf.
Noting the violent opposition the White Inquisitor held against the Sewer-side Squad upon their arrival in Bryn Shander, Agaric and Aelar conspired to free the group from their captivity at Revel's End, joining the group in their quests - and aligning with the "cold weather underground" scholars with similar aims: the Kalteswetteruntergrund.
