Togan is the only son of a fearsome blacksmith (Miga) and a hermit fisherman (Bevan)-- how such a meek, hapless individual resulted from the combination of the two is a mystery. He was an unexpected child, but his father was happy to raise him, and he took easily to the family trade. They had to move from circle to circle looking for work, though, so he never had much socialization growing up aside from his parents.
The lonely redheaded girl he'd see whenever they stopped in Mossgrove became one of his few friends, and even before they moved into the village permanently, he'd fallen in love with her. A relationship between the two was convenient for both families for different reasons, and they courted long enough to even get engaged... Soon after that, though, Lucya panicked and swore her fateful iron vow. Togan is wholly supportive of her decision, but quietly hopes she'll return to him one day.
He may look tough (and he does have quite a bit of muscle) but he's as gentle and docile as a lamb. Neurodivergent in some fashion like his father, he's a creature of habit and easily overwhelmed by disruptions to his routine. Doesn't get along too well with his mother, but its more a personality conflict than true bad blood between them. Unabashedly adores Lucya, and is... more than a little jealous of Jagal, though he's unlikely to have the gumption to say anything to his face. The other citizens of Mossgrove don't have much to say about him, except that he's a good hand if you need some heavy lifting done.
Likes gardening, making iron charms, and freyberry tarts. Dislikes crowds, handling sharp blades, and large dogs.
