Dwarves are stout and hardy folk with a strong sense of justice and loyalty. Dwarves are also recognisable by their long braided beards and hair between blonde and bright copper. They spend much of their lives in huge subterranean mines, and pride themselves on their skill as miners and craftspeople. Dwarves are divided into distinct subraces:
You can find information on how to create dwarvish characters on D&D Beyond.
Distribution
Dwarves across The Known World mostly live in subterranean cities. They sometimes live alongside humans, with hill dwarves the most likely to live above-ground. Their distribution across the world is fairly uniform.
Arauglbrok
Arauglbrok is predominantly occupied by mountain dwarves who made greater technological advances than anyone else across The Known World. These accomplishments include digging tunnels between the islands, finding runic ways to power huge machines, and imbuing metal and stone with consciousness as Warforged.
It should be fine to play a dwarf on this continent.
Haelspur
Dwarves are almost nonexistent in Haelspur, with very few being sea-faring.

Korona Morska
In the predominantly human archipelago of Korona Morska, dwarf society has not yet taken hold. Most dwarves here are solitary or live in small family units, and most of them are hill dwarves.

Rhak

Tabasamu La Miungu
Dwarves are rare in Tabasamu La Miungu, with the climate being too hot for most. Most dwarves here are solitary.

Tide
In Tide, mountain dwarves and hill dwarves are most common in one of The Free Khazâd Cities – a collection of independent dwarvish city states.
In Theder, hill dwarves are more common than mountain dwarves, with a large portion of them living in and around Crynnan.
Dwarves in Pauviel and Lagatpulgoruz are more rare. Elvish culture is very different to dwarvish, and they struggle to live side by side. Orc tribes are not accepting of dwarves at all, even shunning Duergar.
Duergar are extremely rare in Tide, rarely venturing above ground.

Vatan
Dwarves are reasonably common in the south of Vatan, where small communities have sprung up from nearby Arauglbrok.
