Blast disks were the most common form of arcane explosive deployed during the Last War. They can produce a wide range of effects, from standard explosions to blasts of confusion, or summoning a fire elemental.
All of the nations employed blast disks during the war, and as such untriggered blast disks remain a danger on sites where battles took place. Whilst all nations deployed exploding blast disks, there were some notable variations:
- Aundair became infamous for using high powered blast disks producing effects like Cloudkill, dropped from the backs of Dragonhawks.
- Cyre experimented with psychoactive blast disks, causing confusion or fear, and causing psychic explosions that could kill without damaging the environment.
- The Order of the Emerald Claw were infamous for the use of necrotic blast disks that exploded, infusing an area with the energy of Mabar, and then reanimated those who died that would then prey on survivors.
- Thrane developed blast disks that caused an explosion of radiant damage and left a lingering area of sunlight, which were heavily deployed against Karrnath.
Blast disks are common, but they are illegal for civilians to own or carry in all Thronehold nations. House Cannith continues to manufacture them, but they are sold exclusively to the militaries of the Thronehold nations, they aren't available publically.
