The party see magenta leaves in the distance through a gap in the fog and know the Edward Fogbluff picks some strange flowers growing around the tree, much like those seen at the moss outcroppings. In the process he notices a burrowed hole that leads beneath the grand tree. Descending down with a rope harness, Edward Fogbluff lights a torch and discovers a large natural chamber beneath the tree and calls the others down, Edward Fogbluff, Edward Fogbluff also hears his patron demanding he smash the elemental gem he had previously lifted from Edward Fogbluff almost kills one of the Dryads and himself, hurling them both to the ground scorched, and combat erupts. The Dryads summon forth roots and vines from the ground that entangle the party and Edward Fogbluff collapsed one of the four tunnels and the chamber had begun to fill with the swamp water causing the party to return to the surface. Short for time due to Edward Fogbluff's Silver Candelabra in a dice game with some of the locals. Tensions rise as one of the lumber workers in the game demands something in return for the candelabra and Fenris Velante steps in with a compromise pay off to calm the men. To mend the hostilities the party buy drinks for everyone in the tavern and celebrate their successful ventures to the dangerous beyond.
