Session 50

Session Log
August 11, 2022

Enter the Hall of Bulls where Torma Mordred is meeting with townsfolk who are raising civil issues.

Introductions are made and an awkward explaining of Mornington's condition occur. He keeps replacing people's names with others he has met on his ventures, accidentally being disrespectful and offering a mere wooden cup as the heirloom Lormanston Goblet. Bella Mordred and Neve Mordred are sat either side of Torma and wish to help after Edward and Crom plead for some assistance.

Torma says that he wishes to speak with his wife Rine Mordred to arrange a meeting to confirm Mornington's identity. As she is the only family member who has met him, some 20 years ago.

The party are asked to return in an hour. Neve shows them around the town and the surrounding farmlands, host to impressive Ox driven mills and extensive agricultural industry. Neve shows a certain lustful flirtation towards Crom, he does not know how to handle the interaction and is for once stripped of his courage.

Upon returning to the Hall of Bulls, Torma permits Mornington to be escorted by guards into the Manor House of the Mordred's. Mornington is very hesitant to do so, scared to leave the side of his companions. Bella takes his arm and leads him, sheepishly, into the Manor house attached to the hall of bulls.

He is led through a series of hallways and rooms before he is brought into a guarded bedroom with several servants and guards watching over Rine Mordred, who is bed bound and heavily pregnant.

Mornington despite his mental state does recognise Rine and is centred slightly. He is kept at a distance from the bed and Rine along with an explanation from Bella sees that he needs assistance and Rine offers for trained herbalists to assist him.

He is led once more to a different room in the house, where he is locked in by the guards and starts to panic. The room has metal grates in the corners and is fitted with comfortable reclined chairs. Mornington bangs on the door wishing to be let out and Bella promises it will be okay. Smoke starts to fill the room, fragrant, herb smelling smoke. Mornington feels drowsy before collapsing, unconscious.

Meanwhile, Neve has been drinking with Edward and Crom, making sure they have some food and company sat in the great hall. Neve speaks with them for a time, reveals that her father hasn't been happy with only daughters, desperately wanted a male heir to inherit his land and lordly position. Bella finds them at the table a number of hours later, informing them that Mornington is stirring.

As the other two were forbidden to enter the Mordred manor Bella sneaks them in. Quickly making their way to the room where mornington lies in rest, some furs and pillow comfort him against the hard ground of the chamber.

Mornington seems lucid as he comes to and speaks with Bella, Edward and Crom briefly. His memory is patchy but he is no longer acting hyper-aloof. He wishes to be alone and rest a while longer so Bella leads the others out into the wider manor complex.

On their way back to the hall of bulls Torma enters one of the rooms en route. Bella strides ahead to talk to him while Crom and Edward are still round the corner. They quickly use their magic portable hole, throwing it onto the wall creating some extra dimensional space. They hide within and seal it. After a small interaction that seems to lack the affection a father should give, Torma walks away from Bella down the corridor and past the hiding position. Once the coast is clear they make a final dash back to the hall where Bella waves them goodbye.

The party split but on the mend, Mornington must now save face, and attempt to reintroduce himself to family while actually sound of mind.
