CeCe

Scout
Player Character

Over the past half dozen decades, CeCe was a drifter needing to take on all manner of odd jobs to maintain their exo-skeleton. If it was something no one else wanted to do it’s an easy bet that they've done. If it paid without too many questions, they'd probably done it twice. Thanks to that their old armor earned its share of repairs and scars, and CeCe’s personality is as weathered and battered as their old patchwork exo-armor. Still a drifter at heart but they have settled down in Journey City as a local radio personality. They spin tales from the road and tunes they heard along the way. Though he hadn’t completely given up doing jobs that don’t ask too many questions, recent events have had him return to the fight.

Personality

History
There is no documented date on when Coral Colony 01 gained sentients. At best it can be assumed its intellect developed slowly over a period of centuries after the corals in the colony developed the first empathic connection. It was a slow transition as the number of empathic coral increased within the colony, and with a seemingly deliberate change in the formation of the colony that allowed it a crude form of mobility. There is speculation that some unknown attractor or environment change had driven the colony to move towards the shore of Izeyu.

CC01 received their designation after being collected and studied in an ERI research facility. They don’t have any intact memories of their time in captivity beyond their name and a few tattered scraps. Their first intact thoughts were from the interior of a hollow exo-body and far from ERI territory. They were confined within an enclosed space which had a sense of familiarity for them. However outside of their small enclosure there was a dry and alien world around. They couldn’t comprehend it but could perceive and move through instinctively. They had no grasp of the armored humanoid frame they resided in the first few days, weeks, or months, but they survived on instincts honed during the time they had lost to ERI’s invasive study of them.

Tragedy
The coral colony was discovered by accident by ERI reconnaissance scouts and it is only through ERI research that there is any information at all about this colony's unique attributes and on the verge of acquiring true sapients. It is also here that the colony first received the designation Coral Colony 01. Over the course of years of study, using ERI proprietary research techniques that our scientist discovered that CC01 had developed sapients. A discovery that was, unfortunately, lost with the destruction of the research facility and the brutal murder of ERI civilians. Despite having delivered confirmation that the colony formed a singular persona, the minimally invasive testing method had yet to confirm CC01 memory capacity or viability for weapons research. In addition, the test subject was lost along with any research data due to rebel violence.
