For far too long, Professor Benjamin Syren publicly advocated for upholding the Accords. Through one Sovereign atrocity after another, Syren sounded a note of appeasement: equality, but only through the Accords.
Syren's tune was grounded in reality. Indeed, was it not Exodus Republic, Inc. cadets who unearthed the Knights of the Round Table and inspired young Benjamin's calling?
But drip after drip, betrayal after betrayal eroded Syren's contentions. Finally, he stumbled into proof that ERI was routinely plundering Earth's cultural history to use as thank-you trinkets to high-ranking corporate officers. The banality of ERI's practice broke Syren's hope for the Accords and it broke something within him.
Since then, Syren dedicated himself to plundering the plunderers. Terra Rising is the only chance to do so in a meaningful way. So long as that dilettante Blissandra Advangelica doesn't lose interest halfway through a mission. And if that ball of rage, Ture Sinning can harness that rage. It's just too bad that the kindly and perspicacious Ahava Kirov had to get herself mixed up in all this. Perhaps they'll all make good companions on this ride for ruin and the world's ending. One thing is certain: after leading so many astray for so long, Syren will always speak the truth to his teammates.
