In this setting, starships are vehicles comprising individual areas or enclosed rooms called stations. They are designed to be modular and flexible to accommodate all kinds of different starship layouts. The Build a Starship section contains more information about creating and customizing your starship.

Each station is also associated with certain station actions you can only take while occupying the station's space. Station actions are complicated and cannot be readied. Only one can be taken each station each round, unless otherwise specified.

You should consider each crew member's skills and abilities when assigning them to a station. For example, strong characters will likely excel at reloading heavy missiles while dextrous characters make better pilots. Some stations require a spellcaster to operate them properly.

The Starship Stations table presents stations, their crew operators, and a list of station actions that can be taken there. Their properties and descriptions are described in their respective sections.

Disabled Stations

Some effects, such as an ion storm, a pulsar weapon, or basic damage can disable a station and eliminates its operational capabilities. You cannot take any actions normally granted by the disabled station unless otherwise indicated. Certain stations like Engines, Life Support, or Shields have additional effects when disabled, described in their respective sections. If a station is destroyed, it is also disabled.

Repairing a Disabled Station. If a station is disabled by a means other than power loss, you can attempt to reactivate it as an action. Make a DC 15 Intelligence check. On a successful check, that station is no longer disabled.
