Avon is the leader of the so-called Triplets of Emotions, three deities that were born at the same time and have domain over mortal feelings, with their triplet sister Atay, who lords over negative emotions, and their triplet brother Adin, who lords over positive emotions. Avon lords over all emotions, as well as the balance between emotions and emotional stability. Often depicted as a Dorro, it is said that Adin brings comfort to those in distress, and calms those that are in a state of mindless mania. This is where his epithet "The Smile-Bringer" comes from. Some children's stories also depict them as traveling the land as a wandering comedian, as they love making people laugh. Nonetheless, their teachings are that one must not lose sight of oneself or get wrapped up in their own emotions too much, while also not shutting them off completely, as emotions are an important part of one's humanity.
Avon's Realm within The Marble Cathedral is called the "Continent of Hearts", which is split into three Areas; which are called "Thetikos", "Isorropia" and "Anitikos". Thetikos is inhabited by mostly misplaced Citizens of Pleasure from Adin's Kingdom of Gaudia, who got afflicted by extreme mania, as well as others who lost themselves within a manic state. Anitikos, meanwhile, is inhabited by many misplaced Mourners from Atay's Realm of Sorrow, as well as others who got lost within a deep depression. These two areas on the Continent of Hearts act as Avon's personal mental health facility, where he treats those people, so that they can recover. Those who recover are then transferred back to their own realms, or to Isorropia; the Country of the Healed, where Avon resides.
Avon, like their siblings, serve directly under Rencal Kei-Rhai and Merikira te Ruvea.
Basic tenets of Avon:
- Always let your emotions flow free, and keep your heart on your sleeve, but do not let them consume you.
- Be kind to those who lost their smiles, so that they may one day find them again.
- Dark days will always give way for brighter days eventually. And happy days may eventually lead to sorrow. It is never wrong to ask for help when your own feelings overwhelm you.
