Atira

Grand Countess of Justice, The Cathedral's Judge, The Lady of Law

The Illiadian goddess of Laws, Justice and the courts. Atira is often considered one of the Holy Grand Counts that are closest to Rencal Kei-Rhai. She is also often credited to be the one who introduced the concept of laws and due process to the people of Illiad, so that justice can be done, and order can be upheld. While she often is considered the counterpart to Sakkanir, the holy Grand Count of Freedom, the two actually have quite a close relationship, and Sakkanir's toppling of tyrants often overlaps with Atira encouraging her followers and champions to strike down unjust laws.

Atira's realm within The Marble Cathedral is called "The Hallowed Halls of Justice", which is a grandiose courthouse where the gods of Illiad meet, frequently with visiting deities from other worlds, to forge contracts, but also where Atira works with Prethao and Vith to judge the souls of the dead.

Atira servest directly under Merikira te Ruvea, Rencal Kei-Rhai and The Golden Scribe.

Basic tenets of Atira:

- Respect the laws of the land, and stand up for justice whenever you can.
- Laws are only ever as good as the people that make them. Don't be afraid to strike down laws if they are unjust, and watch out for tyrants who misuse the court of law for their own benefit.
- In your delivery of justice, be swift and effective, but but don't lose your heart, and always have mercy.
