A Galonian noble family, led by the Earl of Skyhold, with close ties to the Royal Family of Albia and the overarching Royal Union of Albia, Galon and Wanil. A highly militaristic family known for their expertise with riding Griffons, training both griffons and riders for the royal family, but also their edict of "Fight 'til the last drop of blood", House Griffmane has been an important asset to the Royal Union and its military for generations.
A few years ago, the unexpected and sudden attack on their keep resulted in the Sack of Fortress Skyhold, and both the Earl and Countess dying, with all their potential heirs going missing. Due to this, the Griffmane family is currently considered extinct in the eyes of the government of the Union.
Unbeknownst to most people, Dareth Lion'el Griffmane, the Half-Orc son that Blain Griffmane had out of wedlock, is still alive, currently working as an adventurer at the HQ of the Liwilai Adventurer's Guild in Argentis. His heir, Clayton Griffmane, also is still alive, but his whereabouts were unknown for a time. Clara Griffmane meanwhile also still lives, originally hiding in Dulenn in the High Lordship of Lugh.
After Dareth contacted the queen of the Royal Union as the new leader of House Griffmane, Clara and Clayton have been given refuge in the castle in Lordston; and while the house is still defunct on paper, debates around replacing it have been postponed so that Dareth can get his affairs in order.
