The Agate Seekers continue to explore the Svantmiirik founding festival, finding a Cotton Candy Stand in the process. Sooty grows a bit melancholic, as he remembers his owner having cotton candy. Volk promptly does his best to cheer him up, though he does seem to notice something and directs the party into a certain direction. There the party finds several posters. "Fighting Ring that way!". This is when Dareth Lion'el noticed a tug on his clothes... Seeing a little, draconic girl, looking up at him, asking "Have you seen my daddy?" After nervously telling her he hasn't, the party does hear a panicked voice, calling out for a Ripi, and the party sees a panicked copper Dragonborn run around the corner, and uttering a sigh of relief before introducing himself as Talxenden Safras, Ripi's father.
The party has a small conversation with him, noticing his Knight-Tier pin, and telling him that maybe he should leash her due to her high energy, when they hear another, familiar voice. "Talxi, I've looked everywhere, but couldn't find- Oh!" And Limni Diluvi appears around the corner. Turns out Talxelden is Limni's husband and Ripi his adopted daughter through their marriage. Talxelden, realizing that Limni would most likely want a small conversation with the party, leaves for the Fighting Ring with his daughter. The party has a short conversation with Limni. Turns out his husband and he are joining the Fighting Ring in Tag Team Battles, though Solo Battles are also available, which the Party (sans Mikhail) all show interest in, and eventually sign up to.
First up is Philomena Snapdragon, whose opponent is, surprisingly, Nax Skyscale. And even though Nax is holding back quite a bit, and feeling quite bad about it, Philomena is only able to get one hit in with her revolver before being downed by the Kobold. Next up is Zora, who goes up against Orlando Fontanez with her dog Maya... Thoroughly destroying him in the process.
Following Zora, Dareth and Volk go up against each other. The two make the fight the spectacle, including grappling, showboating and showmanship into their fight. It's quite neck-to-neck until the last moment where Dareth deals the last blow, downing Volk to a cheering audience.
Last but not least, Sooty, together with his Giant Eagle using his Eaglereign, is going against an elderly Kobold member of the Bahamut clergy. And while he was able to get in quite the hit with a Guiding Bolt, Sooty was able to defeat the kobold quite handedly. The winners of the fights would then recieve some money, as well as a ceremonial, silvered dagger.
The party continues wandering across the festival, seeing a live performance of "Three Kobolds in a Trenchcoat", and finding an Archery Competition. Sooty, Philomena and Volk join in, and Sooty and Volk make it into the finals; only for Volk to win a +1 Musket in the process.
The party then find a sketchy Cup-Game stand with a cloaked man. The party immediately agrees to play, and wins... only for the man to chuck a linen bag towards the party, and teleporting away with the words. "Now it's YOUR problem, suckers!" Inside the bag, the party finds a severed, mummified kobold hand that gives of divination magic. Turns out it's a magic item called the Kobold Diviner's Hand, and is activated by the name "Vikda".
Once more wandering about on the festival grounds, Sooty, while being carried, sees, on the other side of the crowd, an old, white-bearded man who currently is eating what looks to be a donut... surrounded by several small, yellow canaries. Interested, Sooty demands to be put on the ground, only to see that the man is gone once he looks back towards him. The party uses their collective religious knowledge to find out that Bahamut, god of Good Dragons, sometimes appears in The Material Plane as an old man surrounded by seven canaries, which are actually his Gold Dragon entourage. As Sooty goes over to the bench he was sitting on, he finds a small canary feather... and pockets it.
The party then continues, and sees a familiar looking carriage, with garish colors and a familiar voice humming on the inside. And as the party approaches, they see the familiar face of Mr. Cracklebones, looking towards them. "Welcome! How can I help?"
