We return to the party as they clean up the dead brown scavvers off the deck of their spelljammer, after the fight in last session. Kaliah "Mama K" Stratum immediately proceeds to take a bite out of one of them, only to realize that they both don't taste good and are full of poison, and she tosses all of them overboard. The party then arrives in the orbit of Katiel thanks to Suzzaeth's spelljamming, but their destination-area was in the middle of the night, so they spend the night in orbit. Some watches were had, some space whales called Kindori were seen, and the party finally made their way to their destination on Katiel; a city called Tepemekuauitl.
In this city, Limni Diluvi first dealt will all customs proceedings, before the party met up with a friend of Limni's; the one who gave him his spelljammer in the first place. A lizardfolk merchant called Cipactli Hatched-At-Dawn. They met him in a local tavern, called the Grinning Gator, where he was waiting for Limni to arrive. After introductions were done, he treated the party to some lunch, and told Limni what he recently found out regarding the Court Sword of Beauty. Apparently, a man took it south-westwards, towards the town of Tototlisintli, but that's where the trail went cold. However, he was apparently seen by a local fisherman called Michkitskij Blue-as-Water, who might know more.
The party then decided to make their way there, but first, there was a decision; either Limni or Cipactli would need to stay behind to look after the spelljammer. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, and both of them are bards; but Limni is of the College of Swords, and thus more offensive, while Cipactli is of the College of Eloquence, and thus more supportive. In the end, it was decided that Cipactli would accompany the party, as he knew more about the local area, and Limni decided to stay behind, but keep in contact through Sending-spells.
The rest of the day was spent traveling towards Tototlisintli, and a large bridge was crossed, however, things only heated up when the party made camp for the night... Volk Lesnoy and Mama K. both noticed some trees... only that they were moving... and kind of hairy-looking? After waking up Cipactli, he was able to clear up that they were being stalked by Goliath Long-Legs spiders; massive spiders that feed on travelers by pretending to be large trees. With this knowledge, an ambush was avoided, and a fight was had; and the party rather handedly won; not only because Kaliah turned into an absolutely feral, demonic-looking werehyena, before she was able to catch herself.
The rest of the night was rather uneventful, but Kaliah and Volk did bond a little over their own state of being, and Katiel's lack of a moon. They then continued towards Tototlisintli, arriving at night, staying the night at a tavern, before they sought out Michkitskij Blue-as-Water, at his home by the creek. After some persuasion, he was able to tell the party of a Yuan-Ti man called Shoklee, who brought that sword with him, claiming it to be his ticked to immortality. Suzzaeth immediately recognized that he might want to infuse himself with the Ena in the sword to expand his lifespan.
Either way, after confirming that Shoklee was known in the area as both a hermit and as someone who had a tendency to... violently get rid of... visitors... Michkitskij pointed the party towards his tower in the jungle; warning them of wild beasts such as Owlbears and Serpopards in the ruins near it. And with that, the party made their first steps into the jungles of Katiel, before bedding down for the night.
