We return to the Agate Seekers during their downtime, with Limni Diluvi awaiting everyone's answer. During said downtime half of the party, comprised of Sooty, Volk Lesnoy and Philomena Snapdragon votes in favor of going with Limni, while the other half, Zora, Mikhail and Dareth Lion'el Griffmane, decide to stay on Sancstoryl, to tie up some lose ends regarding their own interests... However, one day after the New Year's celebration, ushering in the year 2143 of the Post-Wasting calendar, Sooty leaves the party, leaving behind a letter telling everyone that he's sorry, but needs to follow a lead regarding Nuferos and Selene McCoy's soul, and that, due to the nature of The Feywild, he isn't sure when, or even if, he is able to return. (Out of game, Sooty's player had to leave the campaign to focus on her mental health; with the quiet hopes that she can return someday when she's in a better mindset).
The party quietly accepts this, but with the vote already done, it seems bad to contact Limni to tell him that the adventure has to be cancelled, and so, Volk and Philomena decide to accompany Limni on this mission anyway, while the rest of the party stays home; as such, Limni is going to hire some extra help.
Once the day of travel comes, the party has a bit of playful banter before saying goodbye to each other; most notably between Dareth and Volk. Limni then comes in, to discuss this mission with the party one more time, with his map of Sanctospace; a trip to Katiel first, to recover the Court Sword of Beauty of Idorik, then to Ljuha to recover Hailana's Ribbon Stick of of Celebration, and last but not least, Atira's Sword of Justice on Vilarreaz.
He also informed the party that he hired three people; two of which had some history with him and his husband Talxenden Safras. The first was told to come meet him at the A Taste of Home... and soon, Cerviel came knocking on the door, introducing himself to Volk and Philomena. Limni introduced him to the party as an old friend of his; they've not seen each other in a few years, and Cerviel completely forgot it's actually been that long. The next hire was an acquaintance of Talxenden; someone who knew his late wife, Astrapi Safras. And Talxenden was currently catching up with her in his estate.
So, Limni, Volk and Philomena said their goodbyes to Zora, Dareth and Mikhail and went on their way. Inside the Diluvi Estate, they already were able to hear Talxenden talk about what happened to Astrapi, but also how he was raising Ripi Safras-Diluvi, how he met Limni and the likes. A pretty sourly, feminine voice then called out "And you didn't invite me to your wedding?!", making Talxenden both uncomfortable and at a loss for words, only saying that he didn't have Astrapi's way of contacting people, especially since she was in space. That feminine voice, Suzzaeth scoffed, before meeting with Limni and the party, scrutinizing each and every one of them, making comments along the way. She then decided to head to Limni's spelljamming vessel for the time being, instead of seeking out the third hire for this mission.
The party then went their way to the Silver Harbour, as their third hire was supposed to wait at one of the taverns there; the Shark Den. However, as the party approached, they only heard the sounds of a bar fight, as well as several, very beaten looking men calling out "That's not a person, that's a monster! Run!!!" Arriving at the tavern meanwhile, they saw the place completely in shambles, with the barman hiding behind the counter, several beaten and unconscious sailors, and a Gnoll woman, holding up a bleeding and crying sailor, apologizing for his behavior. This gnoll was Kaliah "Mama K" Stratum, their third hire.
She toyed a bit with the party, most notably Volk, and also Limni, who she pressured into calling her "Mama K." instead of her given name, making him quite uncomfortable. After some more talking (and paying the barman for the damages), the party then met up at the Spelljammer. Another interaction between "Mama K." and Suzzaeth was had, with Suzzaeth completely refusing to call her that nickname. Suzzaeth then took it upon herself to steer the spelljammer, and we had liftoff.
First, the party did a short pit stop on Hanina, in a spelljammer port-town of Saintsdawn, where several rations were bought, as well as some wraps by Volk that strengthen his unarmed strikes; useful for his future wildshaping abilities.
The party then started their trip towards Katiel. First, they came across a weird jellyfish-thing called an Esthetic; living spaceships used by celestials called Reigar. While they're quite chaotic, focusing on the artfulness of their actions, with some of them becoming murderous for their "art", this one seemed to not be interested in Limni's spelljammer. Then, as they entered Katielian territory, they came across a merchant vessel, filled with Lizardfolk from Katiel, slowly also passing them by. But last, the spelljammer slowed down as a pack of hungry Brown Scavvers, a type of space shark, took interest in some people aboard the deck.
A fight was had, Kaliah, Cerviel and Suzzaeth were able to show off their abilities, and the scavvers were fought back; with their meat now up for the taking, as the party is slowly approaching Katiel.
