Gifts and Ghouls

The party will set out to complete the second ritual outlined in the Occultus Metamorphosis Avangion having completed the first. 

They have been given the name of two powerful and possibly semi-mythical preservers by The Veiled Alliance. Sitar in Raam and Kortesh in Balic and Nibenay. 

When they find Sitar they will be looking for the defiler Rowon and will probably be accompanied by Yuan-ti warriors.

She will appear to the party twice, disappearing (teleporting away?) each time as the party travels, only on her third appearance does she speak to the party. 

She is there hunting down a defiler named Rowon who was her great nemesis. She has defeated him but his creation is still at large. She was wounded in the battle and is now too weak to face the creature. She will give the party the gift they seek if they destroy the defilers creation. She spotted the creature fleeing into the desert east of the mountains. 

She is badly wounded but she says she killed Rowo and his body lies further up the mountain - they know from the Yuan-ti that he has a magic item. 

The Yuan-ti will want the amulet and then to wipe their memory.

When the party heads out into the desert they are confronted by Dray patrols from Fort Ebon now in Dregoth's control.  The patrol is led by Wquen.

Later from higher dunes they see a vast Dray army marching toward the mountains.

After a few hours they will come across a Strange Sand Statuette. This was created by Gantral. His first failed attempt at creating life himself. 

Next they will encounter Showlin. She does not move to hurt them but if they approach her they will rot. 

She will tell them that she was created by Gantral. That he was lonely in the desert and created her from the pain hidden beneath the sand. Those who fell in battle many years ago are buried below these dunes. 

She will protest that she cannot help her nature and will play herself off as a pitiful misunderstood frankenstein's monster type. Before she dies she tells them that Gantral will avenge her.

Then they will encounter a series of dead and rotting Dune Reapers and then a caravan of rotting dead merchants before coming face to face with Gantral.

He will be distraught that they have dispatched his ‘daughter’.

When they return to Sitar she will give them a small Statue of the Avangion. Then she will pass away peacefully.
