Hectin Autocarriage

Traits

Rugged: This vehicle is built for harsh conditions and is especially resilient. Each time it suffers a Critical Hit, roll twice and use the lower result.

Variants

Gang Wheels: Many Hectins are modified to have open sections at the rear. This grants the following modifications:

• The vehicle can now hold 8 passengers.
• the Hectin can be upgraded to carry any separately acquired Basic weapon to be Pintle-mounted on the chassis.
  
• Crew and passengers can be targeted by enemies directly.
• If a result of Crew/Passengers hit is rolled on the Vehicle Critical Hit Table, the victim does not add the vehicle’s Armour to their own when determining damage.
• If this vehicle goes Out of Control, passengers and crew must make a Challenging (+0) Reflexes Test or be thrown off.
• Passengers and Crew may choose to oppose Melee attacks made against this vehicle

Hectins from the Dawn: Ancient and rare Hectin models use anti-grav technology. These variants use the following rules:

• Its Availability changes to Exotic.
  
• It moves an Immediate distance above the ground, but can adjust that height slightly to move over obstacles.
  
  • Skimmers can also move to Low Altitude, as described in the rules for Flying.
  • It ignores all forms of difficult terrain (except those deemed appropriate by the GM).
• It gains a +10 bonus on all Piloting Tests that involve manoeuvering.
• Skimmers crash when Out of Control as if they are flying vehicles.
• It can Ram, but suffers an automatic Critical Hit if it fails the opposed test.
• A Skimmer is often far more difficult to hit in melee combat than its ground-based counterparts, and thus all Melee attacks against it suffer a –10 penalty.
