Overview:

Culver was a human male born on the Western fringes of Semterra in the Primacittian border town of Moorage Hills as the eldest son of seven siblings. A resolute and devoted Cleric of Torm, he was deeply engrained inside the Order of the Ruby Price,  becoming a Knight and working in service of their task of ensuring all arcane magic users were contained or removed from the continent of Garrond. On dry land, Culver was a closeted homosexual, saving face and hiding his sexual preferences from his superiors, and more conservative family members. While serving aboard the Golden Gull, Culver was more comfortable exploring himself and eventually formed a relationship with the drow, Illisean. Culver would meet his end at the hands of the Sahagun on the 9th of Dawnthrone, 5602 ASC, sacrificing his life in exchange for the party's own.

Description:

Culver was a conventionally attractive, if slightly pale, human male around 5'10 in height with a messy mop of curly red hair and a tidy goatee of matching color. He possessed an oval-shaped face, a hawkish nose, and steely-blue eyes in the shape of almonds, with well-proportioned features and a near-permanent stern expression. Rarely seen outside of his armor, the cleric was constantly adorned with one of Torm's symbols, the Hand of the Resolute, somewhere upon his body, most often upon his breast or waist. When not dressed for combat, Culver preferred muted colors, like greys, blacks, browns, and certain shades of green over brighter colors, sometimes dressing in white, if nothing else was available.

Personality:

Stern and devoted to the Order of the Ruby Price and his God, Torm, Culver was never one to attempt to make friends; however, those that managed to grow close to him would find no better companion. A caretaker by nature, Culver spent the formative years of his life helping his father work various odd jobs around Moorage Hills to support his sickly mother and his six younger siblings. Given no time to be a child, he was a full laborer by the age of eight, often working the fields or Orchards around the town just to ensure that there was enough food for his family. An inherent selflessness was born from these long years of labor, leading to a sense of humility bordering on self-deprecation.

Originally Culver traded his farming equipment in for a guard's position; however, his plans and tenure were changed when he turned twenty, and a band of desperate wizards abducted his four youngest siblings and his mother. During the confrontation, the kidnappers demanded restoration to their former positions and for the laws passed after the Tepps heresy to be reversed, as they were unjust and punished all for the acts of a few. Initially, Culver actually found himself agreeing with their arguments, though he was continually requesting that they release his family into safety as they were innocent in this. When the kidnappers, to illustrate that they were serious about their demands burned his mother alive, Culver became much harsher. The events of the day led to the deaths of the wizards and all of the captured members of Culver's family; additionally, Culver shortly after resigned from his guard position and joined the Order of the Ruby Price as an initiate. His distaste for arcane magic and spellcasters has only grown since that incident.

He became a firm believer in the inherent dangers of magic, and the risk that all arcane spellcasters posed to a functioning society. Tasks within the Order of the Ruby Price hardened Culver against them, often leading to violent outbursts and reactions towards those who wield magical might. Despite these issues, Culver could and would retain a working relationship with those that could obey the law and commands. These individuals he would escort out of Garrond and onto ships heading for Port Etudiant
