DM Notes - Cathal

Started in Elysium seeking audience with Gabriella Bianchi to learn some combat techniques. She agrees and requests that attend the roof of Elysium the following evening

He then askes about for a possible location for Hezekiah Sanchez to convince the Toreador to strive for an Archon position. 
Once a location is found Dr. Cathal Erhard heads to scrounge up another replacement car from Frank White. Clearly, Frank is delighted to be of service and will have a car available the following evening.
 1956 Studebaker Hawk, a vehicle that was innovative for its time.. but is strikingly ugly. The two decades since its creation have been somewhat kind and there is very little rust on the body of the car. However, both front quarter panels were replaced from other cars which were also of two different colors. The trunk was also replaced, and is of a 4th color. The engine, though functional, will require some maintenance.
 
The car 'purchased', Cathal heads to an art gallery in a poorer section of Miami. While Hezekiah is not currently there, his sire greets Cathal politely. Sakuko Hada accepts a note from Cathal, inquiring if it is private before reading it herself. She promises to hand the note to Hezekiah upon his return from his evenings festivities. 

April 26
Cathal finds his new car sporting a parking ticket, he throws the ticket away. Simone Lockwood
He then drives to the gallery to meet with Hezekiah. Cathal is earnest in his desire for Hezekiah to join the Archons, believing that Hezekiah could not only act to bolster the Camarilla but also as an ambassador, of sorts, for those disenfranchised by Toreador. 
He steadfastly refuses. He makes it clear he has no desire to travel the world again nor does he have any desire to leave his sire. 
Cathal then attempts a different approach, stating that the high rank would bestow his sire special privileges'. Hezekiah counters that such trappings matter little to his clan, that the two of them would still be seen with scorn. Hezekiah makes it clear that he will do whatever he must to defend Miami, and those friends he has made there, but has little love for the Camarilla after centuries of spite and venom hurled at the pair. 
Cathal leaves in disgust.

After his meeting with Hezekiah Sanchez he hurried to get to Elysium as quickly as possible. 
Dr. Cathal Erhard did not want to be late for, nor miss, his training session with one of the Hounds. Cathal made his way to the rooftop and finds D'artagnan (currently Porthos) waiting for his arrival. A rapier is handed to Cathal and the training commences. Porthos focuses all of his attacks on the right hand of Cathal causing it to become increasingly numb. Cathal is advised to obtain a sword from John Young of Clan Nosferatu. 

Simone Durond passes on quick instructions for Cathal to meet at one of her havens and Cathal informs her to be cautious, that Clan Malkavian uses ghosts to observe people. 

Cathal then spoke with Laura van Vries and Mic McDougal, learning that he would be helping to find some missing Caitiff. He spoke briefly with Conrad "Buck" Collins and was ridiculed by the Brujah Primogen. 

Cathal and Mic headed off to meet with Conrad "Rud-Rud" Jones. Cathal refused an offer to purchase some information on the Hunters.. cap H looking for him and merely requested a meeting with John Young. He then left the park, and after a short exchange with Albert "Al B" Broadson, he headed to Simone's haven. 

As he got there, Meredith Miglorie was leaving having just warded the haven against intrusion from ghosts. 

Simone:

broached the subject of a ritual which Cathal can be resistant to and hesitant about. She could order him, and he would obey, but that would be a waste of resources and time. Instead, she will further your desire to improve yourself and test the ritual on a suitable subject. 

She tells you to have a meeting with Ventrue Alonzo Gagliano. "You'll need some backup to take care of any retainers he may have on hand, but he'll allow a private meeting with him. You're Malkavian and whip of the Prince's, and his grand-sires, paramour. You're also known to be a tepid and weak vampire, ill-equipped in combat." 

"When you're alone with him, get close and strike him with this.. "

(she opens a small, but elongated, chest to reveal a wooden stake)

"You need not strike true, but the closer to his heart the better. Hopefully, you can strike close enough that he will be downed before he is able to truly retaliate."

She closes the chest and continues. 

"If you are successful, have whomever you have around you take him to your car and return here."

she then hands you a small bag with a small bit of wood inside it

"Leave this, do not touch it, at the scene near to where you staked the Ventrue." indicating that you need only dump the contents of the bag out.

"I will perform the ritual on him and if he survives, you can drain him in his weakened condition."

"the sooner you have this meeting, the better."

she then tenderly strokes his cheek. "the deficient fall so that the worthy may stand, pawns are removed so that enemy is weakened. this is your first move on the board."


The Ritual of which Simone spoke is to change the clan of a vampire to that of a Ba'ali. She is unsure it will work.
The stake is enchanted with the Splinter Servant ritual. 

Cathal started the night at Simone Durond's haven and assisted her in a feeding ritual in which he watched her dialbrize a Caitiff. 
Cathal did not join in on the feeding frenzy as the individual screamed in torment and then headed to Elysium. 

Once there, he met with Conrad "Buck" Collins of Clan Brujah and joined the Primogen in a private meeting. 
(For some debt).. Buck requested that Cathal destroy Marcus Bosun, with a couple of stipulations. 1) Cathal couldn't go to the other Brujah for help. 2) he couldn't go to the Gangrel or Hounds for help.

The reason for the destruction of his own childe is that Marcus killed his brother Connor Wade to prove his loyalty to the Sabbat

With his time at Elysium finished, Cathal headed to Charles Hadley Park to meet with the Nosferatu. While there, he spoke briefly with Conrad "Rud-Rud" Jones and was told that Dejan Bucrin and Carl Geist were both missing, with the information originating from Frank White. Conrad was simply acting as the information hub to bring down the Human Observers and few people had checked in recently. 

Cathal employed John Young to construct a sword, which will be ready in 5 days. the construction of the silver lined blade will be a medium boon. John Young has been constructing weapons, especially edged weapons, for a little over 200 yrs. He will not build any weapons for those from England. 

Cathal headed to a meeting with Jerry Langalla or Alphonse Persico, both of the Gambino crime family, to get work. 

Cathal spoke with Frank White and a meeting with his childe, Rebecca Pratti, was set up for the 28th.
He then went and met with Jerry Langalla. Cathal, a native of the area, knew that Jerry was highly placed within the local organized crime families. 
He inquired for work and told them that he was a decent doctor. To test this out, Jerry had one of his men shoot a waiter in the leg. Cathal worked quickly, with few tools, and was able to remove the bullet and stop the bleeding. The 'interview' was then over. 

Cathal also spoke with Sajr Abd Al-Aziz ibn Najla bint Gursiyya ibn Hycranus ibn Assan Ibn Enoch Ibn Khayyin "Adam" and requested his help in taking out any guards that Alonzo Gagliano and, or help securing Aurelianus Decitus Octavianus, Adam agreed to help. 

Cathal also reached deep into the Madness Network for the first time and caught a brief glimpse of what the elder Malkavian is experiencing
