Moðflanders is a minor Cartúng in Sinsonismo, spouse to Flanders. In Sinsonistic tradition she is canonically slain by Omersinso.
Death
The Épiso that depicts the death of Moð is frequently included by exception into Louenepiso, due to its morally instructive and slapstick qualities. Interpretations of the events differ widely, but the synopsis provided below is an amalgam of the most common interpretations of the Death of Moð stories.
Omersinso is seen to be presenting his corpulence as an invitation to prosperity and mirth in a coliseum. Rafuígom comments that his prosperity is so great that Omersinso might nurse humanity a mother would. Moð rebukes him as a private aside to Flanders, speaks an honor to his virility, and ascends a coliseum. A female chorus declares that in accordance with the Omeric decree, none shall want for clothing, and Omersinso declares that indeed all shall be clothed. Upon his prosperous belly he inscribes a symbol of social cohesion, prosperity and protection, and invites a bounty of such clothing upon the wanting backs of the people. As Moð seeks to ambush him during this ritual, Omersinso utters a word "U'uabábipin," thought to be a spell of protection and vanquishing of his foes. In poetic fashion, the clothing he wished as a bounty strikes Moð and she falls from the coliseum to her death.
This Épiso is generally interpreted as a parable to accept the gifts provided by Cartúngs or other forces in life. To reject such gifts is a path to treachery, and an invitation to ruin.
