Red's temples are banks with their Custodians acting as notaries and lawyers. The reliability of contracts witnessed by a Custodian of Red are second only to those signed with a devil. Everyone knows a story or maybe two of some unlucky fool who broke a Red contract and was hunted down by the other branch of Red's custodians, the assassins. It is said that Red travels throughout the core and beyond endeavoring to write the perfect contract.
Legends say he was born on Amet to a werefox father which allowed him to shift into a fox. After his father was forced to flee from the Arethian Empire's purifiers his mother took Red and fled to the new colony of Hadira to prevent the purifiers from finding out her son's condition. It is here where Red began to rebel against his mother's faith in Areth and began worshipping the ancient and now all but forgotten god of trickery Ibular, and began working with other rebels against the Arethian Empire. After Nightfall he volunteered for the extremely dangerous mission to bring the fight to Areth. Together with the other Travelers he set out on their quest to break Areth's hold on their world resulting in the death of Areth and the Rebirth of Itoa during the events now called The Reckoning. Afterwards, for unknown reasons, he set out on a mission to write an unbreakable airtight contract, recruiting his Custodians for the job as well. Ever since his custodians have scoured the Core for legal texts and anecdotes. Due to their expertise they were often asked to assist in writing and enforcing contracts during their travels, this led to many of Red's custodians to become de facto notary's. Horror stories of the nightmarish fate of those who break a contract witnessed by Red's custodians are known throughout the universe, meaning a contract witnessed by a Red custodian is as close to an unbreakable pact as you can get without making a deal with a devil.
