Before The Reckoning Elves were thought to be immortal, however since the rebirth of Itoa the oldest Elves began dying of old age. On the year 333 After Reckoning the last Elf alive before The Reckoning died. At the same time Elven fertility was greatly increased, creating a staggeringly large new generation of Elves born after The Reckoning. Scholars speculate that the life cycle of the Elves is bound to that of Itoa.
Once a united race living Phantom World until Ilalokthramek's ritual left it uninhabitable. After their exodus to Twilight world they have split into three sub-races, the Wood Elves, the High Elves and the Drow. Later another sub-race called the Void Elves evolved in The Eternal Dominion.
