Nesdin's family were displaced from their caves by the growing tremors in the Humming Plains, and they were living in poverty on the streets of Rookmore. Nesdin made money fighting in The Crucible. One day, a mysterious hooded figure approached him, and offered him 300 gold to read an unknown spell scroll aloud. Upon doing so, Nesdin transformed a random patron into a Lemure, melting their skin off and causing them to burn the surrounding patrons. The monster was put down and Nesdin was arrested. Quickly into his incarceration, Magnus "Johnson" Thaumalor heard of Nesdin's plight and paid for his bail. Seeing incredible magical potential from this Kobold, Magnus "Johnson" Thaumalor took Nesdin under his wing, and led a crash course on evocation magic for him at the Astralreach Academy. Nesdin then participated in an exchange program and traveled to Qir'ellan'alak.
