Between Session 074 and Session 075

Next: Leading the Blind 002

Start: Ragnar Dravenson, Euclid Lazuli, and Bluebell gathered at Morvina's Tree after being called by Sybil Morvina to help quell another arising crisis.

Sybil Morvina invited Ragnar Dravenson, Euclid Lazuli, and Bluebell to her tree and informed them of an escalating threat near Draakbarrow: the death of Lohka Wyroc was likely to spur the nearby Morgo the Maleficent, who'd taken up residence in Castle Darkstone. She gave them some baked goods (2 x Greater Healing Potions, 1 Brownie of Burrowing, and 1 Dragon Donut (same effect as Eldritch Eclair) each, along with their returning guide Bauble. Additionally, her and Rorax Rorakksu presented them with magic items: the various World Bark Weapons Rorax Rorakksu helped Sybil Morvina make. After discussing the assignment, Sybil Morvina sent the group off out of the tree, onto the northeastern mountainside of Blind Claw, about a quarter of the way up from the base.

Traveling up the mountain for several hours through the night, the Tremor Chasers encountered a patrolling group of Draconians with a pair of Amethyst Wyrmlings. Watching them move about, alerted by the scouting efforts of Zephyr, Bluebell spotted a shifting figure prone on an adjacent ledge overlooking the same group of Draconians. Bluebell reached out, and the dark figure seemed panicked, and claimed to be gearing up to ambush these scouts. The group joined him, and surprised the Draconians.

Killing all of the Draconians and the two Wyrmlings, the dark figure approached and introduced himself as Godrick Grimbow, and that he's been scouting the mountainside for some time now to help prepare the Skallywag Squad's imminent approach. Seeing how capable the group was, Godrick Grimbow asked to join the group and share his scouting information with them. The agreed, and moved up the mountain.

One the northeastern side of the peak of Blind Claw, the group moved over a ridge and saw Castle Darkstone before them, facing the back of the castle (its eastern wall and turrets). Godrick Grimbow pointed out a stone door hidden somewhat in the natural stone face of the rocky base of the structure, and said he knew it was an escape tunnel in the castle from its original construction. He also noted that he had been reducing the numbers of scouts in the region for some time, and there were holes in the patrol schedules that he could help the group navigate to get inside. They agreed, used the brownies of burrowing to circumvent the door, and everyone snuck inside the tunnel.

Inside, they got to the dungeon level of the castle. They moved forward, and found a large subterranean chamber filled with amethyst crystals. The floor was covered in amethyst shards, ruby dust, and slushed snow, with most of the right wall crystals were shattered. Approaching, they spotted several figures through the fractal-patterend cyrstals in the left and back wall. Inside, they spotted several figures: Draconians, Lohka Wyroc, Godrick Grimbow,a nd in a massive crystal on his own was Ereus Sol'ahn. All were suspended in the crystals, and all were missing portions of the left side of their bodies (Lohka Wyroc missing his left horn and part of his face, Godrick Grimbow missing his left arm, and Ereus Sol'ahn missing his left wing and front left claws. Crashing into the ground behind them, the party was surprised by the simulacrum of Ereus Sol'ahn, birght purple eyes burning with rage, and the Godrick Grimbow they were traveling with was nowhere to be seen.

End: Start of combat in the simulacrum dungeon of Castle Darkstone, facing off with the evil created Ereus Sol'ahn and Godrick Grimbow, with more skittering heard above in the darkness.
