The ghav'ox are organosilicon based life forms, their natural born abilities giving them properties like that of silicone. During periods of warmer temperatures, their bodies can naturally stretch and return to shape without physical damage, but should the temperature drop the changes are more permanent. Additionally, they are heavily resistant to cold and radiation, keeping them protected while their planet has a thin layer of atmospheric protection.
Due to their difference in their physical, biological, and genealogical structure, the occurrence of the powered gene is much more rare than it is in humans. If it's ever activated in a ghav'ox, it's seen as divine punishment, and the exhibitor of the powers are almost immediately imprisoned or executed.
