Full Recap

Following the events of WoW S.02 Warehouse Warfare, Sewer Stronghold, the party had successfully rescued Renaer Neverember and Floon Blaagmar from the sewer hideout, defeated the Zhentarim, Waterdeep Chapter agents, and recovered an unusual sphere from the dead Mind Flayer Nihiloor. Today the party needed to wrap up loose ends, complete the legal transfer of Trollskull Manor, and figure out their next moves.

At the Yawning Portal

  1. The party gathered at The Yawning Portal to share the good news of the rescue with Volo.  He was ecstatic and relieved to hear about Floon's rescue. Volo bought the party a round of ales to celebrate. Volo confirmed his deep gratitude and debt to the party, and they arranged to meet again in two days for the key exchange at Trollskull Manor.
  2. The party also ran into Yagra Stonefist at the Yawning Portal. She told the party that Durnan the innkeeper had been impressed by their skills when they broke up the bar fight back in Session 1, and said he would be willing to pay them to help keep the peace in the bar. She also gave them a heads up that the Zhentarim would likely be looking for them for their part in the raid on their warehouse. Yagra gave the party a contact in the Zhent leadership — Tashlyn Yafeera — and said the party should reach out to her if they wanted to get ahead of any potential Zhent retaliation.

Checking in with Renaer and Floon

  1. The party visited Renaer and Floon at their apartment in the Sea Ward. Renaer thanked them sincerely for saving him. He reiterated his offer to give them Trollskull Manor and said the paperwork should go through quickly.
  2. Renaer confirmed he had an item in a secret compartment of a locket, but said the locket had been stolen in the sewers during the rescue. He gave a description: a platinum locket with a blue stone. He asked the party to keep their eye out for it.
  3. Renaer also confirmed the party's suspicion that the Zhents and Thieves Guild are currently at war, and suggested neither faction would be friendly to the party given recent events.

Trollskull Manor Transfer

  1. The party met Volo at Trollskull Manor two days later and he showed them around the dusty old building. It clearly had been a fine establishment in its day, but had fallen into disrepair. Volo then produced the deed and they went to the Magisters office to handle the transfer.
  2. At the Magisters office, Volo dramatically realized he didn't have the gold needed to cover the transfer fee. After much embarrassed fumbling he produced a smaller velvet pouch and gave it to the party saying "consider this my down payment on the debt I owe you." The pouch contained a Unknown.
  3. The magisters clerk Unknown helped Metatronia fill out the paperwork, and eventually the transfer was complete. The new owners of Trollskull Manor: The Lost and Found.

First Look

  1. After the transfer was complete the party returned to the manor and took stock of what would need to be done to open it as a tavern. They liked the building, but the task ahead seemed daunting. However they went to work.
  2. Before long they were joined by the three Street Urchins from Trollskull Alley, who had heard the place was under new management. The kids asked if they could help clean up, saying they knew the place well. The party put them to work for a small wage.
  3. They also began to get the sense that they were not alone in the building. Strange things happened: doors closing, items moving. The party had been warned the place was haunted by Volo and they were beginning to believe it. Vonna used her divine senses to try to detect the ghost, and while she couldn't get a precise location, she sensed a strong presence of the supernatural on the building's second floor.
