Jinsim

Ability Score Increases:

The history of the Jinsim is long and storied, filled with tales of heroic escapades of individuals as well as the race as a whole entity. History has recorded a long and nearly unbroken heritage of peaceful politics and kindness for all around the Jinsim people. Originating from the Zhúlin forests, the Jinsim have had multiple conflicts with their neighbors; the Kamal, the Tang Mo, and the Ka Po'Tun. As a people, regardless of other aims and goals in life, a love of ancestry and history is a nigh universal trait among them. On top of this, they are well known for quaint and humorous tidbits of wisdom. As a Jinsim, your mind is honed toward clarity, peace, and humor. As a Jinsim your body is conditioned to endure, sustain, and consume. You gain a +2 to Constitution.

At times, war is unavoidable. For all the peace and comfort the Jinsim desire, there are times when fighting is all that can be done, even in the interests of establishing peace, one must remove all obstacles to its possibility. Within the ranks of the Jinsim, exists an organization of Jinsim devoted to these efforts, to protect all of the Zhúlin through secrecy, discretion, and even subterfuge, if needs must. The Sha'do Jin are those people. Those among the Sha'do Jin gain +1 Dexterity

There are times when secrecy is a lost cause. When power must be the tool with which assault is answered. The Serpent Guard, founded first to combat the threat of Po'Tun invasion, became the Jinsim's first and last line of defense. A great wall was built to defend against the Po'Tun, and they were the ones who stood guard upon it. With tools, traps, war machines, and their own bodies as weapons, they would fight back against whatever invading force sought to lay harm upon the people of Zhúlin. Those among the Serpent Guard gain +1 Strength.

Peace and Knowledge are always the goal, however. Remembering the lessons of the past, so one could build themselves up on what one could learn from the conflicts and troubles of the past; to ensure one did not repeat them. Otherwise called the Loremasters, these Jinsim were tasked with keeping a living memory of all that had transpired in their past, so the future would never be without their ancestors' lessons. These lessons shared would prepare all the children for the struggles to come, for history may not repeat, but it certainly rhymes. Those among the Loremasters gain +1 Wisdom.
