In many cultures, he is known by many similar but different names; Herma-Mora, Hoermius, Hormaius, Hermorah, the Woodland Man, and the Gardener of Men. His domain revolves around fate, destiny, knowledge, and the hoarding or sharing of it. He is feared and warned of the world over, but there is never any proof of him being evil or good. He has been known to share knowledge with those of good and evil ties in the world, and seemingly shares his knowledge with both just as willingly.
