The First Aldmeri Dominion was founded in the 2nd Era, in the year 580 by, then, Queen Ayrenn of the Summerset Isles. She was not liked by the Thalmor but she was loved by the Dominion as a whole as she brought unity and harmony to the peoples of the Aldmeri Dominion. At first, her face emblazoned all coins of the Dominions currency, though this fact changed eventually.
During the Second Aldmeri Dominion, there was still respect paid to her. However, with the foundation of the Septim Empire, the Aldmeri Dominion was eventually dissolved as its territories became part of the Tamrielic Empire.
During the Third Aldmeri Dominion, when the Thalmor took control and waged their wars against the Empire, the face of Ayrenn was removed from all but the Electrum coin. The face on the gold coin was changed to the patron of the Dawnsinger family, Doralien. The Silver coin was emblazoned with the First Emissary, Elenwen. The Copper Coin was decorated with one Gerendil, a chief Interrogator. The Platinum Coin bore a representation of Auri'el, the god of Time.
