Signs, a form of minor magical skills and effects, were developed by the Dwemer. Usually opposed to the forms of magic practiced by the Ayleid, Altmer, Falmer, and Direnni, the Dwemer sought to even the playing field. On top of their artisan, architect, engineer, and artificer skill sets, they employed a group of knights that would pilot and direct mechanical constructs and support them in fights. While Kagrenac focused on certain magical items, a Dwemer named Vesemac started training martial fighters in the ways of these minor magical feats. He died before much could be developed, but he did manage to fashion five unique magic-like effects that have become the cornerstone of the Order of fighters that have formed from the few students Vesemac had.

  • At 4th Level, you gain access to Signs, a set of minor magical effects, at their first level. You can use each of these signs a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier. Once you have used these charges, you must complete a long rest before you can use them again.
  • At 8th level, your training in the ways of the Signs has improved. You can now use the second-level variants of these signs.
  • At 12th level,  you must focus and specialize. Choose a single sign. You may now use the third-level variant of the chosen sign.
  • At 16th level, you may choose to continue your specialization, unlocking the fourth-level of your chosen sign, or broaden your specialization, and unlock a secondary chosen sign's third-level variant.
  • At 19th level, with devotion, you begin to unlock the realms of what is called Mastery. You either unlock the fifth-level variant of your one chosen sign, or increase one of your two chosen signs to fourth-level.
