Among the Altmer, there is the belief that a handful of Aldmer ancestors were something more than mortal heroes of Merkind. The chief among these were practitioners of amazing skill in magic, warfare, and leadership.
While there is some evidence that these figures were Aldmer people who had lived there is a historic precedent of them being revered as gods as well.
