Looked down upon by many of the Thalmor, Lethalis was passed up time and time again to be an Emissary, despite his work and efforts for the Thalmor. Due to his mixed heritage, he was seen as lesser, and that was why Maesael got his chance. Maesael recruited Lethalis to be one of his, and gave him the opportunity to really show the power of the Thalmor. Quickly, he rose up among Maesael's ranks and was promised a seat as an Emissary when Maesael replaced Doralien as Primus of the Dominion. While not second to Maesael, he was nevertheless shown recognition and respect, and Lethalis quickly decided to devote all he could do to Maesael's goals.
