In the Imperial City, the party shows off to a group of guards and the Emperor, Aeneas Corvinus himself, the three assassins, and the eggs. The assassins had tattoos on their arms of Higashi family sigils on their arms, though the assassins were Tsaesci. After the eggs were brought to the Emperor's dragon, the party was charged by the Emperor to join some of his men in going to the town of Hackdirt, which was the town seen in the distance from the waterfall connected to the ruin of Narfinsel.
With more powerful teleportation magic than they possessed, at the hands of High Chancellor Lucius Flavius, the party and two Imperial Centurions were sent to the town of Hackdirt with the authority to arrest anyone who got in the way of finding out anything about the Tsaesci's presence and the supposed Dragon breeding operation that was going on in Narfinsel.
In town, the people seem generally disinterested in people coming through town and perhaps annoyed by it. The priest at the temple though is scared and after a moment tries to tell the party that it is not safe in Hackdirt. Unfortunately for the Priest, this spurs on another group of assassins leaping through the stained-glass windows of the temple.
After dealing with attackers in the temple, the party explores one of the sections of a destroyed building in town and finds a secret entrance into a tunnel system below town. There were more Tsaesci to fight in the tunnels and eventually found a way into a cave where there was another mushroom and a few hatched dragon wyrmlings. After dealing the with Wyrmlings, the party went back out into the town and were treated to a scene of horror as civilians all across Hackdirt were left dead in various ways with various implications to how those murders went down. After gathering up bodies to try and remove them from the town to bring them to a proper place for burial, two ancient dragons landed upon the roofs of two buildings. Lucius Flavius arrived in time to teleport them out of harm's way.
