Frea

Shaman of the Skaal Village

During the Skyrim Civil War, Frea was a young woman and daughter of the then Shaman of the Skaal Village, Storn Crag-Strider. When Miraak caused distress among the Skaal, Dunmer, and Reikling populace of Solstheim, she ventured to the Tree Stone in the middle of Miraak's shrine to try and solve the issue. While there, she met with Svarog and got his help in her desire to fix the issue. When Storn was forced to sacrifice his life to satisfy the whims of Hermaeus Mora and provide Svarog with what he needed to deal with Miraak, she became the Shaman of the village.

In time, she married and had a child of her own, a daughter named Alja. Alja eventually fell for a Dunmer from Raven Rock. Though the village did not like it much, nothing was done to stop it and in time, Alja and her Dunmer lover had a child named Leif. Though he bore no real features to tie him back to his Dunmer heritage, he was nevertheless referred to by the moniker Alfsson. Frea was called upon to do something about this, but Frea refused to shun her own kin and chastised the populace for their behavior.

During a hunting accident, both Alja and her Dunmer lover lost their lives, and so Leif became the only one Frea could train to be the next Shaman of the village when she passed. Once again, the people of the Village had their discrepancies and when Leif was found with one of the books of Hermaeus Mora, there was nothing Frea could do to quiet their complaints. Frea told Leif to go to the Imperial City and learn something of his choice and hoped that the time away would cool the spirits of the people of the Skaal Village as well as give him some time to think more clearly about where Hermaeus Mora was concerned.

Frea now must think, however, of who will be the Shaman after her if the Village's opinions don't shift, if Leif never returns, or if she were to die before he could return.
