In bright light, this sword appears to be a mundane shortsword made from a strong iron metal. However, in dim light or darkness, it takes on a different appearance. The black blade becomes a vicious obsidian color with wispy dark purple tendrils pulsing off the hilt.
Dormant State
This weapon counts as a +1 Shortsword (1d6 piercing damage)
Grim: While in dim light or darkness, you add an additional 2d6 necrotic damage to the damage roll.
Dusk: On a successful hit, and the Grim feature is triggered by this hit, you can place a shroud of magical darkness on the target. It only surrounds the target and does not extend beyond their space. Only you can see through this magical darkness, it lasts for one minute, and you can only have one shroud active at a time.
Proficiency with a shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
Awakened State
