Halldir's Staff

This item requires attunement.

This staff is enchanted with the ability to cast one of two spells. Each spell can only be cast once per long rest. These spells are listed below.

Pacify:
LEVEL- 3rd  ||  CASTING TIME- 1 Action  ||  RANGE/AREA- 60ft (30 ft )
COMPONENTS - 
V, S, M *  ||  DURATION- Concentration 1 Minute
SCHOOL- Illusion  ||  ATTACK/SAVE- WIS Save  ||  DAMAGE/EFFECT- Frightened

You project a phantasmal image of a creature's worst fears. Each creature in a 30-sphere within range must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or drop whatever it is holding and become frightened for the duration.

While frightened by this spell, a creature must take the Dash action and move away from you by the safest available route on each of its turns, unless there is nowhere to move. If the creature ends its turn in a location where it doesn't have line of sight to you, the creature can make another Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, the spell ends for that creature.

Soul Trap:
LEVEL- 3rd  ||  CASTING TIME- 1 Bonus Action  ||  RANGE/AREA- 60ft
COMPONENTS - 
S, M *  ||  DURATION- Concentration 1 Minute
SCHOOL- Conjuration  ||  ATTACK/SAVE- None  ||  DAMAGE/EFFECT- Control

You create a magical binding upon a target's soul. When you cast this spell, the target's soul is primed to be extracted into a soul gem. However, the target must then be slain within the duration in order to complete the extraction.

If the duration is exceeded before the soul can be extracted, or concentration is broken, the spell is wasted. The soul gem is not consumed.
