Vampiric Hunger. Shade must feed on the blood of other cats to survive. If it goes without feeding for a week, it becomes weakened and suffers disadvantage on all attack rolls and saving throws until it feeds. It can drain the blood of a cat it has successfully grappled using its Bite attack.

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage. If the target is a creature (another cat), it must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or take an additional 5 (1d4 + 2) necrotic damage, and Shade regains hit points equal to the necrotic damage dealt.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d3 + 2) slashing damage.

Misty Escape. When Shade drops to 0 hit points, it transforms into a cloud of mist (as in the "Misty Step" spell) instead of falling unconscious, provided that it isn't in sunlight or running water. If it can't transform, it is destroyed. While it has 0 hit points in mist form, it can't revert to its cat form, and it must reach its resting place within 2 hours or be destroyed. Once in its resting place, it reverts to its cat form. If the resting place is ever discovered and disturbed, Shade is permanently destroyed.
