Customization: Vehicles

This document contains customizations for vehicles. Assume they can be applied both to small and large vehicles; from small ground-based speeders, to towering mech fighters, to interstellar transport vessels.

Utility Attachments

Advanced Targeting Array

Applies to all vehicles.
Sophisticated holo-imaging technology designed to increase accuracy.

  • Hard Points Required: 1
  • Attachment Price: 4,000 credits.
  • Base Modifiers: Upgrade Gunnery Ability by +1 when firing the ships weapons.
  • Modification Options: Upgrade Gunnery Ability by +1; Innate Talent (Sniper Shot); Innate Talent (True Aim).

Electronic Countermeasures

Applies to all vehicles.
A suite of sophisticated electronic countermeasures, which transmit a dense stream of noise and junk data to fog sensors and jam comms traffic within a close range around the broadcasting vehicle. This makes the broadcaster harder to see or to hit, though the energy required tends to put undue strain on the vehicle's electrical systems.

  • Hard Points Required: 1
  • Attachment Price: 3,000 credits.
  • Base Modifiers: Counts the vehicle's silhouette as 1 smaller when fired at. Any vehicle or spaceship picking up the noise will be notified of its presence.
  • Modification Options: Upgrade difficulty of attacks using the Guided quality by +1.

FTL Drive

Applies to spaceships.
Providing the ship has the capacity to endure interstellar flight, an FTL drive allows it to make longer journies in a fraction of the time.

  • Hard Points Required: 1
  • Attachment Price: 5,000 credits times Range (1 Short, 2 Medium, 3 Long) and Speed (1 Slow, 2 Average, 3 Fast). Ex. 20,000 credits for a Medium/Average Drive.
  • Base Modifiers: Grants the spaceship FTL capacity according to the given Range and Speed.
  • Modification Options: Upgrade difficulty of attacks using the Guided quality by +1.

High-Output Turbines

Applies to all vehicles.
A powerful upgrade to most vehicles' engines, at the cost of lowering its reliability.

  • Hard Points Required: 1
  • Attachment Price: 5,300 credits.
  • Base Modifiers: Upgrades the vehicle's Speed by +1 and reduces its System Strain Threshold by -1.
  • Modification Options: None.

Retrofitted Hangar

Applies to all vehicles of Silhouette 5 or larger.
Converts available cargo space on a vehicle to instead be a fully equipped hangar for smaller vehicles.

  • Hard Points Required: 2
  • Attachment Price: 5,000 credits times vehicle's silhouette.
  • Base Modifiers: The vehicle is able to carry a number of smaller vehicles, each of which must be at most 2 silhouette smaller than the carrier vheicle. The maximum capacity of all smaller vheicles carried. Common sense judgement on the GM's part may apply for what a vehicle can support.
    • Silhouette 5 can carry up to 5; Silhouette 6 up to 20; Silhouette 7+ up to 60.
  • Modification Options: None.

Smuggling Compartments

Applies to all vehicles with an encumberance capacity of 25 or greater.
A number of concealed compartments that allow goods to be hidden away from prying eyes.

  • Hard Points Required: 1
  • Attachment Price: 1,200 credits.
  • Base Modifiers: Stores up to 25 of the ship's Encumberance in hard-to-find compartments. Upgrades the difficulty of checks made to find these compartments by +2.
  • Modification Options: 2x Additional storage compartments (25 Encumberance each).

Defensive Attachments

Enhanced Armor

Applies to all vehicles.
Armored plates made of a complex, shock-absorbant lattice, molecularly bonded to the vehicle's hull.

  • Hard Points Required: 2
  • Attachment Price: 2,000 credits times the vehicle's silhouette.
  • Base Modifiers: Upgrades the vehicle's Armor by +1 and reduces its Handling by -1.
  • Modification Options: None.

Reinforced Shield Generator

Applies to all vehicles.
Upgrades a ship's stock particle and ray shielding to make them stronger and easier to manage.

  • Hard Points Required: 2
  • Attachment Price: 3,000 credits times the vehicle's silhouette.
  • Base Modifiers: Upgrades the vehicle's Defense by +1.
  • Modification Options: None.

Weapon Attachments

Upgraded Weapons

Applies to all vehicles.
The breadth of vehicle weaponry and possible loadouts is vast and diverse across the galaxy. This is a selection of potential, off-the-shelf weaponry.

  • Hard Points Required: 0 if replacing an existing weapon; 1 if adding a new weapon.
  • Attachment Price: See table below for weapon prices.
  • Base Modifiers: See table below for weapon statistics. All weapons utilize the Gunnery skill.
    • The available firing range for a weapon depends on the vehicle and how it can be attached, though the GM may allow for a weapon's firing configuration to be modified (such as attaching a 360-degree ventral turret mount for an autocannon).
  • Modification Options: The GM may allow for individual weapons to be modified to add certain additional properties.

Adding a Linked Weapon

A Linked Weapon can be added to a vehicle. Each weapon that is Linked is purchased together; first for the weapon's listed price, and then another 50% times the weapon's desired Linked qualiy.

For example, an Autocannon with Linked 3 would cost 6,500 credits. 3,000 for the weapon, and then 1,500 times 3 for the Linked quality.
