Hope Rachid is the daughter of Ash el Sabine and Garrettar Rachid, and thus through her father is the granddaughter of Ash's fellow The Band of Misfits member Kadar Rachid. While generally Catfolk children take the surname of their mother, Ash deliberately broke convention as she wished to avoid carrying on her own mother's legacy, and to honour the memory of Garrettar's own deceased parents.
She notably looks a great deal like her mother, inheriting her smoke-grey fur pattern and her distinctive blue eyes.
