Bel decides to test the limits of her looping life by making allies in Mor'Koc’s underworld. She frequents the Staff & Coin tavern, befriending Roberto (a sneaky commoner) and wagering on games to raise coin.
Through Roberto she is introduced to the Mafia boss Abba and agrees to retrieve a mysterious dragon egg from smugglers. She infiltrates their hideout and manages to escape with the egg, hiding it in the Grand Library’s vault.
Before she can pay Abba, thugs ambush her in an alley and demand the egg. When she refuses, they call down lightning from a storm dragon to strike her. Bel dies clutching the egg; she awakens back on the first day, losing both the egg and her new allies.
