Auril is the neutral evil lesser deity of winter and cold in the Faerûnian pantheon. She is the embodiment of winter's cruelty, but also represents its innate beauty, eternally frozen in stasis in sheet of rime. She serves under Talos, leader of the Gods of Fury, who eroded her power when he usurped her control of snow and ice storms. This offense made Auril all the more bitter, causing her to make the winter seasons even more frigid to remind the people in The North who controlled the cold itself.
