Cyric is the chaotic evil, monomaniacal, and insane Faerûnian lesser deity of lies and intrigue, specifically as means for promoting strife, deception, conflict, and death. He was originally a mortal man who achieved godhood through nefarious means. For a time, Cyric was an extremely powerful greater deity, having usurped Portfolios from several others. However, his own nature and machinations brought about his own demise when he angered enough gods to rally a coalition against him.
