Shaarans are humans that inhabit southern Faerûn in a large, expansive region of steppe and grasslands known as The Shaar. They were a largely nomadic people whose society, culture, and economy were all based around hunting, gathering, and grazing animal herds, making them some of the preeminent horseman in the entirety of Faerûn. Shaarans were usually short and lithe, with yellowish to reddish skin tints, black hair, and dark eyes.
