Velsharoon was the Faerûnian neutral evil demigod of necromancy and patron of all liches and those who explored undeath. He was originally a human member of the Red Wizards of Thay who not only achieved lichdom but became so powerful that he advanced to godhood. He tacitly served Azuth but his inherently evil nature put him at odds with the neutral gods of magic and he became more closely aligned with Talos and Shar. He was believed to have been destroyed during The Spellplague but, being a lich and a god, it is questionable whether he is truly gone.
