Throes of Oblivion. When Mormesk dies, it collapses inward and creates a burst of painful psychic energy. Each creature within 20 feet must make a DC 14 Constitution Saving Throw. Failure: 18 (4d8) Psychic damage, half on Success.

ACTIONS

Life Drain. Melee Spell Attack Roll: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft, one target. Hit: 16 (3d8 + 2) Necrotic damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution Saving Throw or be Dazed and have their HP Maximum reduced by the amount of damage received. HP Maximum is reduced until the target completes a Long Rest.

If a humanoid dies within 1 minute of being hit by this attack, their spirit rises as a Specter under the control of Mormesk.

While Frightened in this manner, the target cannot stand from Prone.

REACTIONS

Denied Vitality. Then a creature who Mormesk can see within 30 feet regains HP, Mormesk can attempt to sap the life energy from restoring the creature. The target must make a DC 14 Constitution Saving Throw or only gain half of the HP it would gain, and Mormesk regains HP instead.
