Firdeng Mid Kingdom

Firdeng extends into the far north, but the Middle Kingdom territories (also known as the Three Daughters) are where the great majority of the dwarven population of Ethren resides. Under those mountains and in the nearby hills the dwarves number almost 2 million. They inhabit several small villages and towns along the Underroad (the greatest of this is the trading town of Fellforge), but there are several outlying settlements of various relatives of the noble lines who hold their own independent keeps or "Freeholds". While they aren't exactly fiefdoms, each lord is a tribal leader responsible for still answering to the king, but in no way bound to him by fealty. They answer mostly out of a sense of cultural pride.

Geographically, its territory is defined by the Greymist Canyon (or Gulstad River Valley, depending on who you ask) to the South and Lost Dottir mountain to the north. Three great peaks inhabit the central territory known as the Middle Sisters (Tolva,  Hjarna, Vorsti}, then across the valley known as Harpy's Hollow (a dangerous place) is the second largest peak in the region, AuldMather mountain.  The region also holds a number of scattered forests around the territories, but the Timberland of the LowKings is perhaps best known, as it's been mildly deforested over the past 200 years and a conclave of dwarven druids now holds timber rights and all who require such much make some sort of donation to the woodlands.
